Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
