I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
